If you feel you need help when you are under threat, or exposed to violence and you do not dare (or can) raise your voice. Show the Help sign as clearly as you can without showing the person threatening you. Assuming that most people know what the sign means, chances are good that someone will come to check, and ask if everything is okay with you.

You want to help or intervene and you are afraid to raise your voice, as you could be put in danger yourself. Show the Help sign clearly to those around you (without the perpetrators/man seeing it), when you see that more people are showing the isign, then you know that you are not alone.

The Help sign is intended as a complement to civil courage and common sense, to clarify and help.
